Jazeera Airways has restarted its flights from Kuwait to six major Indian cities through Project Vande Bharat, which marks an important achievement in international travel connections. The project restores essential travel routes, which were suspended after regional airspace closures and Kuwait International Airport shutdowns that left many travellers without options to reach their destinations.
The launch of these special flights marks the first direct connection between Kuwait and India in months. This move is part of Jazeera Airways’ ongoing efforts to provide essential travel services, especially for the large Indian diaspora in Kuwait, whose members have faced difficulties in traveling due to the ongoing regional challenges.
Restoring Vital Connectivity Amid Regional Airspace Closures
Jazeera Airways has been the only airline operating flights from Kuwait to India during this period of limited air travel. Passengers seeking to travel from Kuwait to India will now be able to board flights from Qaisumah Airport (AQI) in Hafar Al Batin, Saudi Arabia, a temporary hub created as part of Project Vande Bharat.
The airline’s efforts to restore connectivity to India have been met with appreciation from the Indian community in Kuwait, including remarks from Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mrs. Paramita Tripathi. The Ambassador expressed her gratitude towards Jazeera Airways for acting quickly to resolve travel challenges faced by Indian nationals, especially as Kuwait’s airspace closure had disrupted many planned travels.

She also thanked the Indian government’s Ministries of External Affairs and Civil Aviation for supporting this solution.
Special Arrangements for Passengers
Under the current operational setup, passengers traveling from Kuwait to India will be transported overland to Qaisumah Airport, where they will board their flights. Similarly, incoming flights will follow the same overland route, allowing the continuation of travel between the two nations. This arrangement is part of a unique collaboration between Jazeera Airways, the Indian Embassy, and the local authorities, ensuring that essential air travel remains uninterrupted.

Jazeera Airways CEO, Barathan Pasupathi, also expressed his enthusiasm about the relaunch, emphasizing the strong demand to reconnect Kuwait with India.
Expanding Network and Future Plans
Jazeera Airways continues to expand its network despite regional operational challenges. The airline now serves a range of destinations, including Alexandria, Assiut, Cairo, Luxor, Amman, Istanbul, Colombo, and Al Ain. These routes ensure that essential travel links remain available for passengers, even as air travel dynamics evolve.
In addition to resuming services to India, Jazeera Airways plans to introduce more frequencies and new destinations gradually. Travelers can check the availability of flights to India, Egypt, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and the UAE through the Jazeera Airways website or app.
Commitment to Customer Service During Challenging Times
Jazeera Airways has demonstrated exceptional commitment to customer service by swiftly adapting to the shifting travel landscape caused by regional airspace closures. In addition to its relaunch efforts, the airline has been offering flexible booking options and providing clear communication to passengers about their travel plans. This customer-first approach has been critical for many, especially for families and individuals who needed to reunite with loved ones during this difficult period. Jazeera Airways continues to prioritise the safety, comfort, and well-being of its passengers, ensuring a smooth travel experience even under challenging circumstances.
The Significance of Project Vande Bharat
Project Vande Bharat is more than just a flight relaunch. It represents a strategic response to the logistical challenges presented by the suspension of Kuwait International Airport operations. The initiative highlights the importance of flexibility and proactive measures in ensuring that essential travel connections remain intact. The project also underscores the vital role of airlines like Jazeera Airways in maintaining global connectivity during uncertain times.
The resumption of flights between Kuwait and India brings advantages to travellers while enhancing diplomatic relations between the two countries. Jazeera Airways enables the Indian community in Kuwait to travel more easily between Kuwait and India, which helps to strengthen their cultural and economic connections to their home country.
